our boy turned six this. six years ago my life changed for good.
5 was a good year for berkeley. I am so proud of the boy he is becoming. He is such a sweet big brother to his two sisters. An example. A few months ago, Morgan and I were on a date night and the kids were home with a babysitter. Stella was having a hard time getting to sleep, so berk climbed in bed with her and scratched her back until she settled down! The babysitter shared the moment with us, but I would have given anything to see it. Those are the moments as a mother when you think, "All this hard work DOES pay off sometimes!"

Berk's slowly learning his like and dislikes. In an effort to give him a variety of experiences, I put him in a summer music theatre program. He was one of two boys in a cast of many many girls. He practiced his songs from Grease all summer long. He knew every word to "We go together" (a tounge twister) and knew all the dance moves. When it came time to perform, Berk pretty much just stood there on stage mouthing the words. No dancing, just standing. I guess the theatre is not his thing?!?
This fall Berk got his first AYSO uniform. Berk tolerated practice, and LOVED going to games. He was all about the uniform and the snack. It was fun to see him improve each week.
With soccer behind us, Berk announced to me the other day that basketball was his favorite sport. This, of course, put a big smile on my face (b-ball was my life in high school)!
Happy Birthday, Bezerkeley!
